Warriors Path Outings

Dear Friends –

We at Warriors’ Path State Park are looking forward to a winter full of outdoor discovery! Here is just a partial listing of some of the special events planned for the coming late fall and winter season:

Nov 17 – INTRO TO MAP & COMPASS
Go “old school” with your land navigation skills! Learn to use these classic outdoor tools to find your way across the landscape.

Dec 1 – WINTER TREE KEYS
Learn to use a botanical key to identify native trees. Get to know your “woody neighbors” on a “first-name” basis!

Jan 21 – WINTER GARDEN SEMINAR – WILD EDIBLES & MEDICINALS
Nationally-renowned wildcrafter Ila Hatter will teach us traditional uses of common plants – how to make nature’s pantry & medicine cabinet our own.

Feb 25 – ADOPT A TREE
You can make a big difference for our future! Help us bring “re-leaf” to Northeast Tennessee by planting tomorrow’s forests.

Mar 16 – FROG WATCH @ JACOB’S NATURE PARK
Celebrate the approach of Spring with a frog concert! Enjoy a wetland field trip to listen to all the frog sounds at nearby Jacob’s Nature Park.

As always, you can get all the details and preregister for park events at the events page on our park website:
https://tnstateparks.com/parks/events/warriors-path/#/?park=warriors-path

Please do contact me if you need additional information, or if there is any other way I can be of service to you. Best wishes for a wonderful wintertime to you and yours!

Have a great day!

Planning – winter camp!! Registration is open.

CDC camp staff have been busy putting together a great camp program that will showcase the best of Scouting.  The program has something for everyone–traditional merit badges and Crockett Badges (special badges that can only be earned at Winter Camp) will be offered.  We also have a group of adult training/classes.  This is an opportunity for units or individual Scouts.

January 13-16, 2023

The cost is      $125 for Scouts ($100 if paid by 12/16/22)      and $60 for adult leaders.

Registration is open on the council’s website

https://scoutingevent.com/713-61588-157313

We will have adult leadership in attendance however this is not a troop event

June 18-24, 2023 Summer Camp

Class registration has opened, so if there is a merit badge class at camp that you really would like to take, but fills up quickly… (such as Cooking which half the slots are gone),  Inform Vic Hasler at hvhasler@eastman.com of your choices.  Paper copies of the one-page worksheet are now available in the wire racks.
