Attention Now Events:

August 12: Maintaining the garden in its first year is foundational to its long-term success.  Therefore, Keep Kingsport Beautiful and the George Washington Elementary School PTA are rallying volunteers to pull weeds and add more mulch to the beds, which will get the garden in tip-top shape as the school year winds up.  We will plan to meet at the garden at 9 AM on Saturday 8/12 and work for approximately two hours.

Drew Utterback will be at CHPC for Youth leadership training to be held on August 12.  An email was sent out!

WARNING TO ADULT LEADERS – YOUTH PROTECTION TRAINING

Please note there is no guaranteed grace period once your YPT has expired after two years, thus you’re at risk of being dropped from the National BSA roster which then requires a new adult leader application – along with all annual fees, including a $25 new member.  Notices are automatically sent by BSA starting 90 days before the expiration.  There have been five Troop 48 adult leaders dropped because of failure to take action.  Fortunately, the first three have rejoined with current training and paperwork.  Troop 48 has a desktop and laptop computer which can be used on a Tuesday night to complete this training.–

Troop 48 has a HP F4440 InkJet printer which is down to its last HP60 black ink cartridge.  If you have any surplus, the troop could use – otherwise will be retiring this device to just continue with the Brother laser printer.

We need to have this information no later then Wednesday!!

Wednesday is a drop in for Black Bear Troop camp fire and flag retirement ! Wednesday night guests may begin to arrive @ 7:30 PM and we should aim to begin our campfire program around 8:15 PM.

Friday guests are welcome to eat dinner at the dining hall provided that they have registered @ the Sequoyah Council and paid individually. We need this information By Wednesday PLEASE LET US KNOW we could’nt find anyway to register online. The leaders guide says the leader at camp has to notify the dining hall.
