PATROL MEETING CHECKLIST for Tuesday, February 25, 2020
1. Take attendance. Add trips, churches, service hours, etc. for meetings missed. Counsel and sign off advancement.
2. Call patrol members not present.
3. Pay dues to re-register for May 1 to Oct 31: $50 Scouts, $26 adults.
4. Wolf is Service Patrol for March. Stomp cans as needed. Straighten up Garage, clean T48 Office, handle patrol notebook bookcase.
5. Panther Patrol has West Bank for February. Please pick up branches and trash, rake leaves and clip or dig up weeds, bad vines, and little privet bushes. Leave the periwinkle vines. DON’T MOW OR OTHERWISE HURT THE ENGLISH IVY !! That ivy is there thanks to Eagle Projects by Gary McGraw, Jr (1983) & Dan Beverly (1986). Weed around shrubbery. [ West Bank was cleared in 2013 by Tanner Clark and his Eagle project team ].
Good Turn part of “West Bank:” Use rakes and spread mulch to fill in holes in Children’s Playground.

Merit Badge University (MBU) – Saturday, March 7th at King University. Mr. Browning will be confirming transportation arrangements with parents.

2020 Summer Camp Class Reservations are Open!
Troop 48 is now registering for summer camp classes. The council created sign-up form can be downloaded below – and paper copies are also available at troop meetings. Let Mr. Hasler know of your choices either at a troop meeting or by email. Remember to select early to ensure your preferences are will be available…
Changes to this form (as of March 6th):
Minimum age requirements (by Sunday June 14th). 13 years old for: Climbing, COPE, CPR/AED Certification, Crockett’s Wild Frontier Marksmanship, Motorboating, Paddleboarding, Rifle Shooting, and Shotgun Shooting classes. 14 years old for Crockett Experience. 15 years old for BSA Lifeguard and Kayaking.
Additional fees are $5 for Chemistry, Kayaking, Paddleboarding, Welding, and Wood Carving; $10 for Basketry, Cooking, Indian Lore, Leatherwork, Motorboating, Space Exploration, and Water Sports; $15 for Archery, Rifle Shooting, and Shotgun Shooting; $20 for Golf; $25 for Crockett Experience,; and $30 for Crockett’s Wild Frontier Marksmanship.
As of March 10th, FULL classes are 2pm Chess, Cooking, 3pm Animation/Graphic Arts; 5pm Snorkeling BSA; and 7pm Electricity, Radio, and Welding. Almost full are 9am Water Sports and 7pm Public Speaking. Let Mr. Hasler know of your interest in case slots come open! A few have made it into Snorkeling BSA and Electricity.

7:00pm – UNIFORM INSPECTION. 2020 Dues ($50, 6 months) and $100 deposit for summer camp to be paid tonight and next week. Robotics Merit Badge (Mr. Darryl Davis). Plan April 7 Awards Banquet: preview skits, plan table decorations. Librarian Team meet. Scribe Team meet; update patrol notebooks. Plan/sign-up for Apr 4 -Knoxville Zoo trip.

Merit Badge University (MBU) – Saturday, March 7th at King University. $15 scouts, $10 adults including lunch and patch. Sign up until February 25th troop meeting. Live class availability and current registrations can be reached from this upcoming event page on the new T48.org website. Trip sheet is in the information racks, then see Mr. Hasler in troop office to sign up.
Mr. Browning will be confirming transportation arrangements with parents. Those wanting a meal ticket at the university cafeteria need to also sign up by February 25th.
Give your self time to plan!!!
Please be prepared for the Webelos open house on February 18 . This is a really important recruitment event.

Patrol’s be prepared to show case the specific things that your patrol was Assigned using the EDGE method. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Please if possible have hand outs to correspond with your station. Copies can be made on site.
Your preparation will determine our success so please plan accordingly.
The pack has blue and gold and your planning will be important!!
Have 2 patrol members go to the Gym to help set up stations and help clean up Pack blue and gold . Be prepared to change planing as we may not have enough time and stations may have to be set up in patrol rooms .
Wolf – knots; use the knot board, and we have a very helpful knot station. Have hand outs showing the 7 scout knots and use your full patrol.
Phoenix- First aid; showcase first aid kits for the home, Backpack etc. Demonstrate splints and stretcher carry. Have hand outs on related subjects. Use full patrol.
Flaming Arrow- merit badges, prepare a trifold board, showcase merit badge books, paperwork, and blue cards. Have a sash on hand. Be prepared to walk scouts through “how you get a merit badge.” Have a list of merit badges and highlighted eagle required badges on hand. Use every one in patrol.
Panther – lashings; show case 3 or 4 of the usable lashing, have a tripod or something on demo. Use smaller sticks for demo.

The deadline has passed for completing the four forms to be an active Scout in the troop. You will not be allowed to participate in troop outings until the four forms have been received and deemed adequately completed.
The next scheduled troop outing is MBU on March 7th. You cannot attend without completing these forms.
