MBU Questions

For scouts with questions after attending MBU.

Please be advised and reassured that since 2001 ( the first MBU) we have been able to get documentation within a few weeks from the teaching staff of the scouts did not take notes we will have documentation posted (much like summer camp ) please be patient.

MBU – The instructors typically have two weeks to put the partial/completion information into the tracking program. A list of completions will be shared once verified, and Incomplete MB sheets will be created to give to each scout showing the remaining requirements and appropriate counselor(s). Follow-up is then for the scouts to arrange with the counselors.

Our amazing Vic will be checking for progress every few days, and we will get them out asap

Also there was NO PATCH, your scout did not lose it unfortunately one was not presented .

2022 MBU (Update): Thursday 3-3

Merit Badge University Attendees: (Leaders please share with your scouts)

MBU is SATURDAY!!!

  • Please register in front of the theatre which is in the Wellmont Regional Performing Arts Building.
  • Kick-off will be at 8 and registration will begin at 7.
  • Classes begin at 8:30.
  • Lunch will be divided into two sessions (12:15 and 12:45) so we can have the hottest food possible.
  • There will be walking to lunch and to the career center so wear comfortable shoes and plan for East Tennessee weather which means it might snow or rain or give us sunburn!
  • Please try to bring a pencil and paper and a water bottle. If you have time, you might want to print out the requirements or workbook for your badge(s).
  • If you are in welding, aviation, metal work or one of the technical hands-on sessions, please wear closed toe shoes and long pants.
  • If you are in sustainability, bring your water bill, power bill, and gasoline usage for the past month.
  • If you are in personal management, think of a big-ticket item you (or your family) might want to purchase in the next 12 months.

Everyone bring a positive attitude as the day will be fun.

If you have questions, let me know.

Thanks

See you soon,

Miss Julie Byers
