2022 “Summer in the Park” — Warriors Path State Park events

Warriors’ Path State Park is glad to announce a number of upcoming special events and outdoor discovery opportunities.

  • May 28 will be the next of our “Hiking Adventures” series. We’ll share an 11 mile “rough and rocky” hike on the side of Holston Mountain, to discover rich woodlands and rare wildflowers
  • June 4 is National Trails Day, and we’ll be celebrating with “Trails All Day!” We’ll be offering guided hikes and nature walks all day long, from a sunrise hike at 6 AM to a night hike ending after 10 PM.
  • June 18 will be our annual Dragonfly Day – a chance to learn about these amazing insects by spending a day out in the field with two amazing dragonfly experts.

Also, we’ll be starting our award-winning “Summer In The Park” activities in just a few weeks – right after Memorial Day weekend. We’ll offer guided nature walks, evening campfire talks, Junior Ranger activities, wildlife demonstrations, and much more. The schedule is different each week, and will be posted on our website and facebook page about two weeks in advance.

Flaming Arrow Outing

We will try again to meet at WPSP this Saturday, January 16, at 10 am.  We will work with Scouts on First Aid, Outdoor Code, and Service for those under First Class (Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class).  Scouts First Class and above can use the EDGE method to help others gain proficiency in the requirements.  We will also spend time doing a Service Project at the Park – mainly picking up trash.  Wear Class B WARM outfits.  We will finish at 11:30 am.
