Welcome

Administration

We are excited to introduce the new pastor of Colonial Heights Presbyterian church, Rev. J. David Randolph. David received his Bachelor of Science degree in Financial Management from Clemson University in 2011 and his Master of Divinity degree from Columbia Theological Seminary in 2017. He moves here after serving at First Presbyterian Church in Oxford, Mississippi. His passion is for individual growth in Christian discipleship. He and his wife Katherine have two young children, Cragon and Betsy, and are excited to move to Northeast Tennessee and start their new journey in our community. Rev Randolph shares a love for scouting coming from a scouting background in his youth and is an Eagle Scout . We enjoyed welcoming Rev Randolph with a traditional pounding . Unfortunately we have a few missing that could not be in attendance but it was a great night @  Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church with Troop 48 and T48G

ATTENTION Troop 48: Pounding Gift Ideas for June 8

What is a “Pounding”? CLICK HERE

1. “Churches need to remember that this new minister often doesn’t know anyone in the congregation. Hospitality is so important and often more important than many longtime members who have never moved realize.

2. “Perhaps even more important is how they receive that minister’s spouse. When a married minister moves, he often has some ‘built-in’ friendships (coworkers, etc.). Many will want to spend time with him. However, a spouse can quickly feel isolated and uncertain as to where she might belong or fit in.3. “Transition is hard. Period. Churches sometimes don’t like to hear this because they then think something must be wrong. Transitions (even the best of them) take time, patience and understanding.”

  1. The following supplies are ideas for Pounding Gifts for the new Pastor at CHPC
  2. Canned goods (beans, corn, tomato sauce, spaghetti sauce, etc.)
  3. Pasta (macaroni, spaghetti, noodles)

What is the Scout Slogan?

Do a Good Turn Daily.

We received Anonymous call today from an individual saying that today at Warriors Path State Park A wallet with a substantial amount of cash, a bank card, and an ID was found. Two young men called the local police who in turn directed them to bring it to the park rangers’ station.

The two young men later were later recognized as Troop 48 scouts. (Aiden and Easton were wearing branded T48 class B shirts) This is not the first time that scouts from this organization (BSA) or this unit (Troop 48) have been recognized going out of their way to help the park, others in the park and or just doing the right thing.

A scout is trustworthy!!!

Way to go Troop 48!!!

Uniform Exchange Update

The first uniform exchange, held May 4, was successful and several scouts and scouters obtained needed uniform items. The second scheduled exchange will be next Tuesday, May 11, and many items remain. Remember, we want all scouts to wear the full Class-B and/or Class-A uniform each day at summer camp, and always at all meetings. Even if you have a full uniform and don’t “need” additional items, come pick up extras. We need to thin out the cabinet to make room for new items.

Youth: boy’s and girl’s shorts, pants, Class-A and Class-B shirts, in a variety of sizes

Adults: men’s and women’s shorts, Class-A and Class-B shirts, and men’s pants in a variety of sizes

Hiking boots: good used boots, size 4 up to men’s size 12

Hats, rain coats, 1 Troop 48 neckerchief.

Possibly will have socks
