Get your Scout Cards: Troop Goal is 5000 !!! Let’s have an ice cream party!!!
Please note this is the biggest opportunity offred for fundraising that our scouts will have. Scout cards sell for $10, Every scout will have the opportunity to make $5 off each card.
Summer camp math: If Scout sells 65 = GO TO SUMMER CAMP FOR FREE!!! If you have already paid for camp you will get that money back.

Join us in congratulating Troop 48’s 174 Eagle Scout Bennett Smith we are all very proud of his achievements.  Bennett has been an amazing scout and has a bright future in front of him!! Well done Bennett you did a great job congratulations!!!! We are very proud of you!!!!

Get your Scout Cards: Troop Goal is 5000 sold we only had 200 picked up. 

Please note this is the biggest opportunity offred for fundraising that our scouts will have. Scout cards sell for $10, Every scout will have the opportunity to make $5 off each card. 

Summer camp math: If Scout sells 65  = GO TO SUMMER CAMP FOR FREE!!! If you have already paid for camp you will get that money back.

2022 Bass Pro Community Activation Fundraiser (link)

  • 4 Youth younger than 15 each day, 4 Others (15+) 2 Adults with Supervisory Expectations OnlyClass A Uniform Expectations (with Appropriate class B (T48 Swag Preferred)
  • “E” Fishing support
    • Aide in crowd support (keep people in a queue)
    • Wipe off fishing lines
    • Remove + reintroduce “E” FishThis is for all Troop 48 Scouts and Scouters (See age requests). You will be trained onsite by activity coordinators from Bass Pro. (Be prepared for weather conditions and personal hydration and lunch (durable sack)) They will provide parking passes and other logistical information as final details are fluid.
    • CORRECTION: If we can as a group satisfy the volunteer request. A $500 gift card will be donated to the Troop directly. The Troop will disperse this money into the scout accounts according to participation. Bass Pro is interested in staffing from our Troop for up to 8 people per day. This is money that may go directly into scout accounts or be donated to the Troop general funds.

Get your Scout Cards sales to start as soon as you get your cards! Please plan to have an adult partner with you. Tuesday, March 8th Ben and Misty Richie will be at Troop meeting with Scout Cards, sales dates, and support. Sell 65 cards and go to summer camp for free, and get  commission money put in your Scout account for trips!!!

 

March 8 planning: Advancements activities

– Work with adult advisers on the requirements in patrols – pick route from each scout’s home to CHPC to NE State CC to CHPC

               – Camping MBC (Brandby, C. Garrett, Shone, Sprinkle, JA White, plus Hasler) – give a topo map with the spot marked from the troop library.

Klondike Sled Team Report

 

Scout Sunday: February 27th at 10:00 am And All Are Welcome 🙂 Would love to have anyone who wishes to join. A minimum of 1 or 2 from each patrol would be appreciated; as we show our Gratitude for 75  years of support from Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church.

 

Covid wise, CHPC is wearing masks as a congregation. They will also be celebrating communion that day as it is Transfiguration Sunday.

February 18-20 Klondike Derby (Paul Bunyan Award Event)

Patrols do not need to plan food!

If you are planning on attending the Klondike Derby you need to already be signed up. Plan on eating well. The adult leadership will be cooking for you, as we normally do so that all youth can concentrate on the event. Each scout will need to bring a bag lunch. Adults will provide 2 dinners and 2 breakfasts so no need to plan meals! If you did make a meal plan feel free to share your menus as we would love to see what some of your thoughts and ideas are. Julie Keeton, Heather McNabb, Sandy Wexler, Julieann White Paul Ketchum, and Michael Brandby will be happy to have any additional Adults help if you are interested.

Note: patrols are not recording what their service hours are for. Please fix this. Church hours note, Max is 3 churches- IF listing a 4th church note as meeting – note why scout has an extra meaning, class for God and Church or confirmation, etc.

Church/service- is not a youth group meeting. Going to church is not service hours; Church is not service; it can be an extra meeting, service hour should be noted for example handbells, Working music, or singing chorus, etc…

Other extra meetings are something with the cubs, order of the arrow, patrol time, etc.

Service is any volunteer time done that is not benefiting a family member or yourself. If you are doing it for advancement or pay that is benefiting you.

 

Scouts that have earned Toti’n Chip at CandyLand will be recognized 2/15/22 If you are going to Paul Bunion you need your card if you can not find your cards at home – if lost (or never given), request another.  Asap

3. Counsel needs for scouts and sign-off advancement.

4. Call patrol members who are not present.

5. Update Scout books with advancements  look at what possibly can be worked on at Klondike

Jan 25– Order of the Arrow Elections. We need to have 50% in attendance to hold this vote please reach out to all patrol members !!!

The Order of the Arrow is the honor society of the Boy Scouts of America, composed of Scouts and Scouters who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives as elected by their peers.

An election will be held all that were nominated have shown the camping and leadership to deserve this honor!!!
