PATROL MEETING CHECKLIST for Tuesday, April 5 2021

 We need each patrol to plan to help
scouts can organization to put together 100- 150 food boxes for the elderly in Hawkins County.
 
They would come and we would set up for them to put together boxes out in the parking lot or on the porch so that it could be done outdoors, and it would be a mask required event. The boxes would be numbered (each recipient would receive 1 large box and one small box) which would be delivered later.
 
The only days that we would have trouble with would be Tuesday and Thursday and the 1st Saturday of the month. We are under a time limit and it must be completed by the 24th of April.
 
They are willing to work with your schedule on this. We just need to know the date or dates
 
Sign up for this event in your patrol and report to Julieann White
 
They are depending on our help and will be ordering the food this week for this and we should have it in by the 6th.
 
Many approaches SPL looking for Service opportunities please take advantage of this

Collect the 4 forms and get them to Amy Taylor
a table will be managed Tuesday April 4 for final collection. Scouts that needed forms to be filled out were sent forms by mail !! It’s important to have all paperwork completed. Anyone with out paperwork will not be able to participate in upcoming events

WEEKLY ROTATION EAGLE • West Bank Please pick up branches & trash, rake leaves Good Turn part of “West Bank:” Use rakes and spread mulch to fill in holes in Children’s Playground. ( help weekly patrol and tend to pay yard ) West Bank is now on a weekly rotation and should be done by the listed patrol.
PHOENIX x• CEREMONY > if we can all meet in the gym again to start Panther will lead in Oath and law
 
PLANNING
Please encourage book checks for all scouts actively working on advancements, go to office at schedule time patrol leader’s should see Mr. Hasler weekly for patrol advice of advancement.
 
Update:
The Sequoyah Council Jamboree is officially sold out! Don’t forget to sign up to help run the Troop 48 station we will be running a climbing wall and teaching knot knowledge to Cubs standing on line. Adults and youth needed

• 2021 Annual Health and Medical Record update time. If you are going to summer camp or anything longer than 72 Hours this is a must. Download, print, complete Parts A+B, Part C is to be completed by your physician. Turn into
Bonnie Depew.
 
• Choose 2021 Summer Camp classes. Post has a list of who has signed up and for what to check.
 
 • New scouts should have a scout hand book class B T-shirt  Troop 48 Red numbers and shirt loops if you have not received these items please see Mr. Hasler. After you have reviewed all patrols please see a leadership corps member and let them know what patrol you are going to join and why. Me. Hasler will then provid new scout with a patrol patch . When you have completed scout rank you will earn a Troop 48 neckerchief.
 
April 13 Court of Honor all merit badges ranks ans news scouts will be recognized as well as 2 Eagle Scouts

March 20  Hike :  ​Laurel Falls Hike or Sand Cave

Assemble/CHPC@9:00 AM March20,21

      Laurel Falls Hike :Hampton trailhead, 33 miles each way.

Sign up using the T48.org event booking to indicate going and number of seats

Enjoy 5-mile hike with scouts and families.  Will need at least one adult leader per ten participants;At least one good first aid kit with knowledgeable practitioner

 Sand Cave Hike :  via Ewing Trail Hike

Assemble @ CHPC Return to CHPC

8:00 AM 7:15 PM Civic Park Trailhead, 72 miles each way.

Sign up using the T48.org event booking to indicate going and number of seats Enjoy 8.6-mile (DIFFICULT) hike with scouts and adults. This is NOT a beginner hike Will need at least TWO adult leaders per ten participants to split into smaller group for “wilderness”

At least one good first aid kit with knowledgeable practitioner: BLS / WFA Certified Provide adult leadership, promote COVID SAFE compliance whenever possible (masks, social distance, and hand sanitizing)

Scouting for food/ Scout Sunday :

Assemble @ CHPC (Eagle/Panther/Phoenix) “A” February 5,

Assemble @ CHPC (Flaming Arrow/Fox/Wolf) “B” February 6

Outing includes overnight camping at CHPC Friday and Saturday night by 2 (3 patrol) groups. The evening activities are opportunities for fellowship and advancement. Patrols should aim to show off their cooking prowess. There will be the 1 bathroom available in the building. Saturday and Sunday morning provide the camping groups with a second opportunity to demonstrate cooking prowess for breakfast.

Candyland is a fun Klondike derby series of games and exercises. Each sled going to Klondike should aim to go even if they are NOT camping over this continuous campfire event (See Julieann White for details). There will be 2 iterations of Candyland.

There will be a campfire and movie following dinner cleanup each night.

We will collect food donated and supply the CHPC pantry and Second Harvest Food Bank.

Klondike February 19,20,21 CDC! Scouts need to get signed up and pay !!! LAST WEEK FOR TEAM DEVELOPMENT

Please let Mrs. White know a team number by listing scouts that get signed up.  We want actual yes or no from all patrol members.If you do not have 5 scouts that want to participate Troop patrol’s can combine. 

Leadership Training (JLT) is now

Basic Life Support Training is being offered on January 30February 6, and February 13 for only $7. Any scouts attending a high adventurer trip or that is in need of CPR training should look into this amazing opportunity!
